Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 2026
The short version:
We collect only what we need to run your doula page. We don't sell your data. We don't track you across the internet. We use privacy-focused analytics that don't identify individuals. When you delete your account, we delete your data. The rest of this document is the detailed version.
mydoula.page ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our platform. Please read this policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this policy, please do not use our service.
1. Information We Collect
What we know about you, and why
Information You Provide
We collect information you provide directly to us:
- Account information: Email address used for authentication
- Profile information: Name, professional bio, services offered, service areas, certifications, pronouns, and other details you choose to share on your public profile
- Contact form submissions: When visitors contact you through your profile, we collect their name, email, and message to relay to you
- Payment information: Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details—only a Stripe customer identifier
Information Collected Automatically
We collect minimal technical information:
- Analytics: We use self-hosted Umami analytics, which collects aggregate, anonymized usage data without cookies or personal identifiers
- Session data: We use essential cookies solely for maintaining your login session
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve our services
- Display your professional profile to the public
- Relay contact form inquiries from potential clients to you
- Process subscription payments
- Send service-related communications (account notifications, trial reminders, important updates)
- Respond to your questions and support requests
- Analyze aggregate usage patterns to improve the service
- Protect against fraudulent or unauthorized activity
3. Information Sharing
We share your information only in the following circumstances:
- Public profile: Information you add to your profile is publicly visible. This is the core function of the service.
- Inquiry delivery: When someone submits a contact form on your profile, their information is sent to you via email.
- Service providers: We share data with third-party services that help us operate (detailed in Section 4).
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or government request.
- Business transfers: If mydoula.page is ever sold or merged with another company, your account information would transfer to the new owners. We would notify you if this happens.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate mydoula.page:
- Stripe — Payment processing. Stripe handles all payment data under their own privacy policy and PCI compliance. Stripe Privacy Policy
- Resend — Email delivery for transactional messages (magic links, notifications). Resend Privacy Policy
- Umami — Self-hosted, privacy-focused analytics. No cookies, no personal data collection, no cross-site tracking.
- DigitalOcean — Cloud infrastructure hosting. DigitalOcean Privacy Policy
5. Cookies and Tracking
We're not watching you
We use minimal cookies:
- Session cookies: Essential cookies that maintain your login session. These expire when you log out or after a period of inactivity.
- Preference cookies: If a visitor toggles light/dark mode on a doula's public page, we set a small cookie (
doula_dark_mode) so the page remembers their choice on return. It stores only "light" or "dark" — nothing that identifies the visitor — and expires after one year.
We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics that follow you across websites. Our self-hosted Umami analytics is cookieless and does not collect personal information.
6. Data Retention
We retain your information as follows:
- Account and profile data: Retained while your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of account closure.
- Contact form inquiries: Retained for 90 days after delivery, then automatically deleted.
- Payment records: Transaction history retained as required for accounting and legal purposes.
- Analytics: Aggregate data only; no personal information retained.
7. Your Rights
You have control over your data. Depending on where you live, the law gives you specific rights. Here's what you can ask us to do:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate information
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal information
- Export: Contact us and we'll help you get a copy of your data
- Restriction: Request that we limit how we use your data
- Objection: Object to certain types of processing
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at privacy@mydoula.page. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), secure password handling, and regular security reviews. That said, no system is perfect—we can't guarantee absolute security, but we can promise we take it seriously.
9. International Data Transfers
