Families can tell
When someone is choosing a doula, they're choosing a person. They want to hear your voice, not a voice that sounds like everyone else's. AI-generated bios have a sameness to them — polished, pleasant, and completely interchangeable. That's the opposite of what families need when they're trying to find someone they trust with one of the most intimate experiences of their lives.
Your words — even imperfect ones — tell a family more about who you are than a paragraph that could belong to any doula anywhere.
Your voice is the product
Every prompt on your page, every nudge, every form label — it was all written by a human who thought about what a doula actually needs to hear. That care is the whole point.
Your page deserves the same. The words you put on it are the first thing many families will read about you. That's worth doing yourself.
We don't want to be that platform
You know the pattern. A platform adds AI features, then it becomes "AI-powered," then it starts charging extra for the AI, then the non-AI version quietly gets worse, and suddenly you're paying $20/month for a robot to write things you could have written yourself — but now you feel like you need the robot because the platform was redesigned around it.
No thanks. Your subscription covers your page. That's it. No AI upsell, no "premium" writing assistant, no features that exist to create a problem so they can sell you the solution.
That said — use whatever tools you want
We're not the AI police. If you want to use ChatGPT or Claude or whatever else to help draft your bio, go for it. You're a grownup. We're not going to build it into the platform, but we're also not going to pretend you don't have access to it.
In fact, we put together some copy-paste prompts you can use with your AI tool of choice. They're designed specifically for doula pages — they'll ask you the right follow-up questions, they know what kind of language resonates with families, and they'll help you sound like you, not like a brochure.
The difference is that you're in control. You choose the tool. You own the output. You decide what makes the cut. We just gave you a head start.
What we do instead
Instead of AI, we give you:
- Good prompts. Every field on your page has a question designed to draw out a real answer, not a placeholder begging to be filled.
- No pressure. Every field is optional. Write what you're ready to write. Come back later for the rest.
- Examples that help. Our demo pages show what a finished page looks like — not to set a standard, but to show what's possible.
